World War II, Involved the vast majority of the world's nations—these nations split up into two opposing military alliances:Allies and the Axis,the war touched every corner of the earth as the superpowers of the time battled in Total War.
The war began in September 1 1939 when Germany invaded Poland but there was a series of events that led up to the invasion and the war, The Japanese, tired of American trade embargoes, mounted a surprise attack on the US Navy base of Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii, on 7 December 1941. The excact number of casulties is unkown but estimites range it between 50 to 70million most of which were civilians.
No war has ever came close to the death and destruction that World War II caused throughout the world.
